How customers opt in to text messages

Montana Timberline Firewood sends recurring transactional and customer-service SMS messages only to customers who voluntarily provide a mobile phone number and affirmatively consent to receive messages related to their orders, trailer loading or ready-for-pickup status, pickup or scheduling information, payments or account activity, and customer-service communications.

  1. The customer completes the in-person customer information and SMS consent form at Montana Timberline Firewood.
  2. The customer provides their name and mobile phone number.
  3. The SMS consent checkbox starts unchecked. The customer must actively check the box to opt in.
  4. Staff enter the customer name and mobile number into the Montana TimberLine customer database and record SMS consent separately, including the date and method of consent when available.
  5. SMS messages are sent only when a valid mobile number is on file and the customer's SMS Consent status is recorded as Yes.
  6. If the consent box is not checked, consent is declined, or no consent is recorded, the customer is not sent SMS messages.
Consent is optional, is provided separately from any purchase, and is not a condition of purchasing goods or services. Message frequency varies based on customer transactions and communications. Message and data rates may apply. Customers may reply STOP at any time to opt out or HELP for assistance.
